Tony's Story

Tony, a retired gentleman from Galway, has been volunteering with Cope Galway for years & he volunteers as a Van Driver for our Homeless mens shelter, the Fairgreen.

Why did you volunteer for Cope?

I was aware of the work Cope Galway carryout in Galway city and was always interested in volunteering in a role where I could help the community.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I am a social person therefore I like the aspect of the role where I am meeting people. I also feel I have a better understanding of homelessness in Galway city through my work with the Fairgreen Hostel.

What do you feel you contribute to the service you are volunteering in?

A helping hand is always needed in charitable organisations.
