Food Rescue Volunteer Driver

What: Food Rescue Volunteer

Where: Collection of food to be rescued from City Centre Retail Unit with onward delivery to Community Catering, Unit 5 Ballybane Industrial estate, Tuam Road.

When:Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 9.30-11.30am. Monday evening from 8.30-9.30pm

*One shift per week/fortnight, ideally for a minimum of 6 months  

Volunteer Role Description:

Food Rescue Volunteer recovers surplus food from donating business and redistributes to COPE Galway services.

Main tasks:

Assist with unloading Van and sorting donations

Heavy lifting required

Friendly, enthusiastic manner

  • Ability to demonstrate respect to staff of participating businesses and COPE Galway service users
  • A commitment to principles of diversity and inclusion

Special requirement for evening shift: Own car required. Drivers must have a full clean driving licence
