The shortage of affordable private rented housing in Galway is resulting in an increasing number of families becoming homeless and relying on the kindness of family and friends to allow them to sleep on the sofas and floors of their homes according to COPE Galway.

COPE Galway’s volunteers are an amazing group of people. They number more than 245, they age in range from 17 – 84 years, and some of them have been volunteering for more than 30 years.
As 2014 comes to a close, COPE Galway’s Chairman John Concannon would like to thank the people of Galway for their support and to give an outline of how that support has made a real difference in the Galway community.
