"A Cabinet of Cures"
Sonas Day Centre is teaming up with Louise Manifold from the Galway Arts Centre for their ‘Burning Bright’ project. This year the project centres around collecting natural cures and remedies for ailments that were handed down through generations by parents or other family members. Every Monday all are welcome to drop in to Sonas from 10.30am where they will be drawing, writing and telling stories about the best natural cures in Galway. At the end of the project a “cabinet of cures” will be exhibited at the Bealtaine Festival, May 2017.
Sonas drop in Day Centre (1- 3 Walter Macken Flats, Mervue) is open for older people to drop in six days a week and avail of art classes, relaxation sessions, film nights (Wednesdays until 8pm) and a weekly lunch club (Thursdays), often with interesting speakers attending.
