"Home from Home" Campaign raises €273,000 from the sale of the first home at auction today.
Dragon's Den star & tech entrepreneur Barry O'Sullivan's dream home on Inis Mór, Aran Islands, sold at O'Donnellan & Joyce Auctioneer's Christmas Auction earlier today. It raised €273,000 for charities COPE Galway & Focus Ireland.
CEO of COPE Galway, Jacquie Horan, says the proceeds of this sale will go towards the purchase of much-needed houses for people currently homeless in Galway: "Every €20,000 of the proceeds will be used as leverage to buy another home. On one night in Galway (November 21st), there were 35 families, with 93 children living in emergency accommodation so this is a wonderful opportunity to provide badly needed housing for these families."
Jacquie would like to thank Barry & his family for this really generous gesture and she calls out to others who may be able to make a similar gesture: "Anyone wishing to donate to the "Home from Home" campaign should contact us at www.copegalway.ie or www.focusireland.ie".
