14th February 2018
Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre and COPE Galway have extended an invitation to all who may be interested to join the local community in enjoying good food with neighbours and friends, new and old, at the first Community Lunch Club at the new centre on Tuesday February 20th, 1pm.
Lunch Clubs provide an opportunity for older people to socialise, enjoy a well prepared meal and an afternoon of conversation in a relaxed setting. The clubs are held in a range of community settings, run by local volunteers and catered by COPE Galway Community Catering.
The Ballinfoile Lunch Club will meet fortnightly at 1pm from 20th February. A two-course meal costs €7. Please contact Noelle Jennings on 086 0237022 to book a place.

COPE Galway is a local Galway Organisation whose vision is an “Improved Quality of Life in a Home of your Own” for people affected by homelessness, women and children experiencing domestic violence, and older people. In 2016 COPE Galway Community Catering Meals on Wheels produced and delivered 44,565 meals to older people in Galway City and parts of the county. The service supported 392 individual clients to stay living in their own homes, and catered over 8,000 meals for 7 community-based lunch clubs across the city and 2 in the county. Our Sonas Day centre and Community support workers supported 118 people also living independently in the community.
